State Team awards are based on composite targets (Singles, Handicap and Doubles) registered during the ATA target year September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. To be eligible, shooters must register a minimum number of targets during the current ATA target year with at least one-half of the minimum targets being shot in Georgia. Championship (HAA) targets of the Georgia State Trapshoot are also required to be shot. (200 Singles/100 Handicap/100 Doubles - Events 8, 9 &10). Composite Average is calculated by averaging a shooters Singles Average, Doubles Average and Handicap Average for the shooting year.
* Any Southern Zone Championship (HAA) targets shot at any of the Southern Zone locations will count as “in State” targets
Georgia State Team Selection
The State Team is comprised of a Captain, five High Average Members, and one representative of each of the ATA categories.
Captain
The shooter with the highest composite average, (Singles, Handicap & Doubles) with required minimums met, will be the Captain of the Georgia State Team. (Regardless of gender, age, or being a Category shooter.)
High Average Team Members
The next five shooters with the highest composite averages, (Singles, Handicap & Doubles) with required minimums met, will make up the High Average Team. (Regardless of gender, age, or being a Category shooter.)
Category Team Members
The Category Team will be selected after the High Average Team is selected. The remaining Category shooters with the highest composite average, (Singles, Handicap & Doubles) with required minimums met, will be selected to the Category Team in his or her Category. The Category Team will be comprised of all Special Categories as listed in the ATA Rulebook Section IV, Subsection K. and Subsection L., plus an additional category for "OPEN".
