Terry N Boggs
(1933-2001)
(1933-2001)
Our sixth enshrinee began his trapshooting career in 1972 and his continuing commitment and dedicated service to the sport has indeed been exemplary.
Terry began a long and distinguished career working very hard to build trapshooting interest in Georgia. In 1975, Terry was elected as the ATA delegate and represented Georgia shooters for 17 years in this position. In 1986 Terry was elected as the ATA Southern Zone Vice President. He served in this capacity until reaching the pinnacle of his career when he became the 59th President of the Amateur Trapshooting Association during 1990-91. In 1991-92 Terry served as Ex Officio to the ATA and served on the ATA Trapshooting Hall of Fame committee and as Chairman in 1996-97.
Terry Boggs was the glue that held trapshooting together for many years and he and his wife Sara were always together, working as a team, cashiering shoots and doing other promotional work to encourage more shooter participation. Terry was instrumental in the formation of the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame and served as the first Chairperson when the Hall of Fame was established in 1994.
While Terry is being inducted to the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame for his outstanding service to the sport, his trapshooting expertise should not go without mention. He has won many trophies and awards and as of this date has registered a total of 290,000 targets. He has been a member of the State Team 3 times since 1983.
Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame, I present to you Terry Boggs.
Enshrined September 14, 1996
