Our seventh enshrinee didn't waste any time winning titles when he began shooting in 1972. That very same year he earned the Georgia State Handicap Championship by breaking his last 50 targets for a 96 and beating Norman Franklin in shootoff.
Bob won his first State Singles Championship in 1974 shooting a 196 X 200. In 1979 he began his reign as the State Singles Champion by earning four consecutive titles from 1979 through 1982. He became the first male to break all 200 Championship Singles targets in 1980 and won with another 200 the following year.
Bob captured the State Doubles Championship in 1974 with a 95 and won again in 1980 with a 97. He was the High All Around Champion in 1974, 1979 and 1980.
Bob now resides in Boulder, Co. and instead of hitting clay targets, he hits golf balls. And, he's not too bad at that either.
Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame, I present to you Bob West.
Enshrined September 20, 1997
