Ethan Ledford started his trapshooting career as a member of the Henry County 4-H Shotgun Team at the age of 11. Being new to the sport, Ethan quickly excelled in modified trap. While practicing for 4-H at the Griffin Gun Club, Ethan saw a group of trapshooters lined up to shoot a round from the 16-yard line. Intrigued and not knowing anything about the ATA or registered targets, Ethan asked if he could join them. That day, Ethan got advice and guidance and never looked back! Ethan shot his first registered ATA target at the South River Gun Club on April 7, 2019, at the age of 14, smashing 91 of 100 targets, and his official ATA trapshooting journey began.
Ethan won his first trophy after winning a tense handicap shoot-off. Winning that trophy ignited Ethan’s passion for trapshooting. In 2020, Ethan was named a National Ambassador for 4-H Shooting Sports, where he attended training on leadership and mentoring young shooters.
In 2021, at 17, Ethan punched to the 27-yard line in handicap. In 2022, after graduating from high school, Ethan attained a scholarship to shoot at the collegiate level, signing with Truett McConnell University, where he is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.
Some of Ethan’s major shooting accomplishments include the following:
