Billy C. Griffin

Billy began shooting clay targets in 1989, at Fort Stewart. Skeet shooting was his main interest, until a friend introduced him to trap in 1995.

He shot his first registered trap targets in 1996, at Forest City Gun Club during one day shoots.

Billy's first State Shoot was the 1997 Georgis State Shoot, at the Forest City Club, where he won the Handicap Championship, from penalty yardage, with 96/100. He repeated his Handicap Championship win in 1999, with

After his 1999 Handicap Championship win, he was totally bitten by the Trap Bug and began travelling to shoots throughout the southeast.

In 2005, his wife, Marie, began shooting with him, and they began travelling to the various shoots. Brothers comment to this arrangement, "GAME ON!"

In 2007, Billy led all Georgia shooters in shooting at 8,900 singles, 8,100 handicap, and 7,000 doubles targets for a yearly total of 22,000 targets.

To date, Billy has amassed a registered target count of 62,000 singles, 55,500 Handicap, and 48,300 doubles targets, for a total of 165,800 targets.

In addition to Billy's outstanding shooting record, he and Marie have been overly generous with contributions to various gun clubs throughout the southeast, and particularly to the GATA State Association/Shoot.
