Betsy Reed

Inducted 29 AUG 2024:

 Betsy joined the ATA 26 years ago in 1998.

Two years later she was elected Secretary of the GATA.  She served in this capacity for approximately 15 years total – Marion Butler was elected Secretary around 2015.  When he moved out of State, Betsy stepped back in.  Rosemary Davenport was elected a couple years later but withdrew from this position after a few months.  Again, Betsy stepped back in.

As agreed by Phil Graves when he gave up the Secretary position in 2000, Phil would run again when he retired, which was in 2019 – and he currently holds this position.

Betsy served under four Presidents – Royce Cofer, Boone Butler, Dave Hollingsworth and Mike Reed.

She won a couple events at Dixie Trap Club in AL, the John Hiter Lady II Singles Championship at Cherokee Gun Club in 2019, and the Lady II Handicap event at GA’s State Shoot in 2020.

Betsy just participated in her 25th consecutive Grand American (starting in Vandalia, OH, the one single Grand American in Missouri during Covid, and all 18 in Sparta, IL).

She loves being a part of the GATA Board serving GA shooters.
