The 2025 Georgia State Shoot at South River Gun Club wrapped up with an unforgettable performance by Ethan Ledford, who made history by sweeping all three Championship Events! On Saturday, Ethan dominated the Singles Championship with a near-perfect 199/200. Sunday saw him clinch both the Doubles and Handicap Championships in thrilling shoot-offs, scoring 98/100 and 97/100 (from the 27-yard line), respectively.
Ethan’s remarkable weekend didn’t end there. He was named Captain of the Georgia State Team for his stellar 2024 season and announced as the 2025 inductee into the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Ethan!
Non-resident shooters also brought their A-game. Maverick L. McClure (KY) won the Non-Resident Singles Championship in a shoot-off against Zeke Yeager (MS). Zeke fought back to claim the Non-Resident Doubles Championship after a tight shoot-off with Cody M. Meredith (FL). E. Matt Smelser (TN) took the Non-Resident Handicap Championship with an impressive 98/100 from the 21.5-yard line.
A huge shoutout to the South River Gun Club team, loaders, and scorers for hosting another phenomenal state shoot. We can’t wait to see you all at the 2026 Georgia State Shoot!
