Georgia Shooters Compete at 2025 Grand American Trapshoot in Sparta

SPARTA, IL – A proud group of 24 Georgia shooters took to the fields at the 126th Grand American World Trapshooting Championships, held from July 30 to August 9, 2025, at the World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois. Representing their home state, these local competitors showcased their talent against the world's finest, earning scores that have their communities buzzing with pride.
Rory Lee delivered a strong performance in the Little Egypt Golf Cart Doubles (Event 3), securing Class AA Runner-Up with a score of 98/100. He continued to shine in the Excel Bottling Company Super 500 Doubles, taking third place in Class AA with an impressive 484/500.
Ethan Ledford, a well-known high-quality shooter in Georgia’s trapshooting circles, added to his reputation with two standout results. In the Trapshooting USA Handicap (Event 5), he claimed Junior Gold Runner-Up with a 97/100. Ledford also held strong from the 27-yard line in the Blaser Handicap (Event 13), earning third place with another 97/100.
Kaleb Kababik impressed in the ATA World Clay Target Championship by Browning (Event 21), achieving Class C Runner-Up with a near-perfect 198/200, highlighting his depth of skill.
John Davis brought a piece of history to the event, competing with his 109-year-old Parker shotgun in Event 21. He advanced to the shootoffs, finishing just outside the recognized places but earning respect for his determination and vintage firearm.
