of Fame
Inductee Requirements
To
be considered for enshrinement into the Georgia Trapshooting Hall of Fame, individual's must have been a member of the GATA and
a resident of the State of Georgia for at least seven years. Candidate's
need not currently be a member of the GATA, a resident of Georgia or currently
active in the trapshooting sport at the time of nomination and posthumous
enshrinement is allowed. The trustees are responsible for screening and selecting individual's for
enshrinement, however, any member of the GATA can nominate an individual by
completing a
Nomination
Form
and providing a complete resume outlining the nominee's achievements.
Shooting Merit
To be nominated for shooting merit, a
shooter must have demonstrated an exemplary record of proficiency and
achievement in the sport of trapshooting over a period of years, which includes a
minimum of five major ATA Championships from either the Georgia State Shoot,
the Southern Zone Tournament, any Satellite Grand or the Grand American in Singles,
Handicap, Doubles or High All Around events or any combination thereof. An
ATA Special Category Championship is considered a major.
Service
Each candidate selected on the basis of service to the sport of trapshooting must have demonstrated an overall exemplary and unselfish commitment and service to the sport of trapshooting within and/or without the State of Georgia over a period of years. Service in an administrative or other
working capacity is considered to be an eligible qualification.
